Blueberry Glycerin Extract
Glycerin extract is another way to add active and color ingredients to your cosmetics. Glycerin extracts are also called Glycerites.
You can use many fresh fruits or dry herbs (It is best to dehydrate the dry herbs before making glycerites with them).
Some makers will add a preservative to the final product. I don't add preservatives when the extract is only glycerin (there is a small amount of water in the fruits, but it is a very small amount compared to the glycerin).
I use blueberries in this recipe, but you can use other fruits, such as strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, apples, pomegranates, or cranberries.
You can use the blueberries glycerine extract in place of glycerine in any formula.
You can add glycerin extract to creams, lotions, shower gels, face wash, face masks or face tonic/mist.
The glycerin extract shelf life is usually 6-12 months. It also depends on the expiration date of your glycerin.
When your glycerin extract is ready, it is recommended to write the date you made it and the PH level of the glycerin extract.
