1 MIN READ

This is an easy AHA face mask, Alpha hydroxy acid helps to peel out outlayer skin which helps to smooth the skin and reduce pigmentation. I added the strawberry powder extract to enhance the effect. You can gradually increase the percentage of AHA as your skin get used to it.

  • 1.5 gr preservative

Method:

  1. In a beaker add the distilled water.

  2. Weight the xanthan gum and glycerin and combine them together in a small jar, once they are fully combined add them to the water and mix well, you can use a small hand mixture or milk frother to make sure everything is well combined.

Notes:

  • Avoid the eye area when you apply the mask on your face.

  • This mask will be good for 2-3 months with a natural preservative.

  • Leave the mask for 10-15 minutes before taking it off with water or a damp towel.

  • Test the mask on a small area to make sure it’s not causing any harsh reaction.

  • Acid masks are tingling on the skin and the higher the AHA percentage the more tingling it will be. For many people, acid masks can cause skin redness, the redness usually fades after 30-60 minutes, that’s why testing on a small area is important to check how your skin can handle the acid.

  • You can replace the distilled water with aloe vera juice or even botanical infusion.

  • You can replace the strawberry powder with other berries powder or skip it and add the amount to the water/aloe vera juice.

  • After washing the mask a gentle face cream is recommended.
